Hastings House Country House Hotel has been a working farm and family estate since the mid-1800s. Now as a hotel, we keep this spirit alive in our commitment to organic, sustainable produce and flower gardens. This makes the gardens one of the best, and most unique, features of the property. Being surrounded by 22 acres of beautifully-tended landscape is a rare luxury, not to mention that the hotel sits on the oceanfront with sweeping views of the Salish Sea. This natural beauty, combined with the heritage of our diverse buildings, makes each room on the property a totally individual experience.

Do you host ceremonies as well as receptions?

Yes, we host both ceremonies and receptions. Typically, we hold ceremonies on the Farm House Lawn where couples can get married at our traditional wedding arbor with stunning ocean views overlooking the harbour amidst our perfectly manicured lawns. Depending on the wedding size, we host receptions in our heritage dining rooms for smaller groups or tented on the Forest Lawn, surrounded by lush coastal forest, for larger groups. That being said, all of our wedding packages are fully customizable and our team is thrilled to work with couples who want to go ‘off-script’ from our typical offerings. For example, recently our gardeners grew a wall of sunflowers as a backdrop for one bride’s dream bohemian garden wedding.

What is onsite for weddings that can easily assist brides?

For assisting brides, our Events Coordinator is onsite and will help every step of the way. Likewise, any of our friendly and attentive staff are always willing to lend a hand. We have strong relationships with suppliers in the community with whom we coordinate everything from rentals to floral arrangements to the perfect wedding cake, making planning a breeze for our brides.

The best season to be at Hastings House is entirely a matter of preference. Late spring is when the gardens are the most lush and vibrant. Summer can all but guarantee beautiful, sunny weather. And fall is quiet, more private and has a cozier feel with harvest time making our culinary offerings more exciting.
