Emily and Travis were both so calm on their wedding day. One of the most chill good vibe couples we've ever had the pleasure of working with. Their love for eachother was anything but chill though, these two were crazy for one another. It was so beautiful to see the passion come through in their vows, photo ops and just overall throughout the day. Their guests and the people they surround themselves with were giving the same energy. The whole day was so serene.

Planning a wedding at UBC Botanical Gardens requires attention to detail, especially in spring when the weather can be unpredictable. Emily and Travis worked closely with the garden’s event coordinators to ensure everything ran smoothly. Here are some practical tips based on their experience:

Consider the weather: Have a backup plan for rain, such as a nearby covered pavilion or tent.
Choose seasonal flowers: The gardens provide a natural floral display, but adding seasonal blooms can enhance the décor.

Use the garden’s natural features: Incorporate pathways, benches, and water features into the ceremony and photo sessions.
Hire a day of coordinator: While the garden does assist with so much, we still handled the floral delivery, the ceremony coordination, guests needs and so much more.
Emily and Travis’s wedding took place on a sunny May afternoon. The nature was in full bloom, creating a destination hidding away from the busy city. Their guests enjoyed walking through the garden trails after the ceremony, while waiting for the shuttle. The shuttle ran every hour and made a few trips to allow guests to take their time.
The Reception at Koerner's Pub
Following the beautiful ceremony, the couple hosted a stunning reception at Koerner's Pub. The couple chose a minimalist look (which is super popular right now) and made the space look absolutely stunning.
Our coordinator Rachel worked tirelessly to put every last detail together. And if you are wondering how much effort Koerner's pub and UBC Gardens puts in? Both were equally very helpful for our team! We so appreciate venues that care and put in the effort for couples to ensure their day is special.
The couple hosted cocktail hour on the terrace with dinner to follow inside.
Making the Day Personal and Memorable
Emily and Travis personalised their wedding by including elements that reflected their personalities and relationship. They chose a simple, elegant colour palette inspired by the garden’s spring colours—soft pinks, yellows, and whites.
The weather held out just for them and it was a beautiful reception. The guests had a blast and more importantly, the couple did too. Emily and Travis were our favourite type of couple to work with. Kind, passionate, direct, and very much enamoured with eachtoher. Their communication made it so easy to know exactly what their expectations were allowing us to provide flawless services and beyond.
