Shangri-La Romance: Ponies, McDonald’s, & Happily Ever After


At The Bridal Bar, we believe in turning dreams into reality, no matter how unique the vision may be. Sunny and Joel’s wedding was a perfect testament to this ethos, where we provided Partial Planning to ensure every detail was executed flawlessly. From the picturesque barn setting adorned with floral arrangements to the luxurious reception at the Shangri-La, every moment was crafted with love and attention to detail.



Sunny’s dream was to exchange vows surrounded by her beloved ponies at her barn in Delta. Our assistance transformed the venue into a whimsical space as the ponies interacted with guests, adding a touch of magic to the ceremony. The sight of the horses draped with floral decorations delighted guests and set the stage for a truly enchanting event. A poignant moment was reserved for Gram, Sunny’s grandmother, with a chair adorned with her locket and photo, a touching tribute that warmed the hearts of all in attendance.



Following the ceremony, guests and the wedding party transitioned to the elegant Shangri-La for the reception. The juxtaposition of the barn’s rustic charm with the luxury of the Shangri-La was lovely. As guests enjoyed cocktail hour with a breathtaking view of downtown Vancouver, the wedding party indulged in a moment of relaxation, accompanied by hors d’oeuvres and McDonald’s, a delightful touch of comfort amidst the grandeur.


The seamless coordination between our team and the Shangri-La staff ensured that every aspect of the reception flowed effortlessly. From the wedding party’s grand entrance to the heartfelt father-daughter dance, every moment was executed with precision and grace. The bride’s outfit change added a touch of glamour, showcasing her radiance as she danced the night away.



One of the highlights of the evening was the dance floor wrapped with the couple’s monogram, a brilliant touch that elevated the ambiance of the reception. The addition of rescue flats provided guests with both comfort and style, ensuring that everyone could dance the night away without missing a beat. The thoughtful details, from the scrunchies for tying up hair to the shoe bags for storing heels, showed Sunny’s commitment to ensuring her guests’ comfort and enjoyment.



 As the night ended, it was evident that Sunny and Joel’s wedding was a true fairytale come to life. Every moment reflected their love story, from the charming barn ceremony to the elegant reception.
